Here at the Boise Nationals Youth Academy we are innovating youth soccer development.  Taking the best of youth soccer development techniques from around the world we have a truly remarkable system that allows players to learn at their own pace and yet ensures that all players learn the necessary basic skills of soccer needed to compete at the next level.  All this while breeding a love of the game through fun games and skills activities.

Our Academy provides all players with training sessions from professional youth soccer coaches.  We focus on technique and teach each player the basics of soccer, while all the time encouraging creativity and individuality.  We work within the small sided soccer model using 3v3 soccer as the foundation for our practices, leagues, and tournaments!!

We believe that each time a player comes in contact with the soccer ball in practice or a game is a learning experience, and we maximize this by having 1 ball per player training and small sided soccer where each player must be a part of each attacking and defensive effort thus ensuring that each player is involved with each play.

Here are some of the basic details of the Nationals Youth Academy:

• Monday – Friday training for all members directed by BNSC professional staff!
• You can come and train up to 5 days per week with our staff!
• Practices are designed to be FUN as well as a learning experience!
• Every level of player will have their opportunity to excel and to be challenged!
• Each player sets their schedule and can choose their team!
• Training sessions are at local parks in Boise, Eagle, Meridian, and Nampa!

The BNSC Youth Academy will be running a 4v4 winter indoor league at the Boise Indoor Center starting Friday January 16th, 2009.  This will be a great program for all players ages 6-10 looking to play some games and maybe even try out being goalkeeper.  The format for our winter league will be a round robin league where teams play 25 minute halves.  The game will be 4v4 with 3 players on the field plus a goalkeeper.  The indoor field is about 30 yds x 20 yds making it about the equivilant of the outdoor U8 field used in our youth academy.  All games will be Friday nights at Boise Indoor Center with kickoff times of 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm, and 8:00pm.  Come and join us for a fun winter season!  Registration is limited to 64 players so sign your player up ASAP!  Teams will be formed based upon friend requests, home address, and ability (if known) to ensure great competition.

The BNSC Winter Academy will be a great chance for player to practice and learn new skills over the winter.  Based on the indoor game of Futsal, players will learn extensive footwork as well as ball control in a gym floor style indoor environment.  The close control required will help players to great greatly improve their outdoor soccer game as well as increase their speed of play and reaction time.  The Winter Academy will be a series of practices ending in a Jamboree.  We will be using school gymnasiums for this program with likely locations of Hawthorne Elementary in Boise and a to be determined location in Meridian/Eagle.  The Winter Academy is for players 5-10 and starts January 12th, 2009.

The BNSC Spring 2009 Youth Academy program will begin the first week of March and run through the beginning of May.  All registrants are able to attend each of the Youth Academy training sessions and each will be able to choose or be assigned to their league team.  The league games will be played on Saturdays and each team will be scheduled a minimum of six games.  Players and parents are free to organize their own teams and must put a request in to the Academy Director by Friday of the first week of practice.  After that all players will be assigned a team based upon the school they attend.  All teams are set for the entire Fall league season.  Each team will need a parent volunteer to act as a game day coach but will not be required to hold practices unless they desire to. 

Youth Academy uniforms are $35 will be available for purchase the first week of training before each session or can be purchased and picked up at our State St. office.  All checks must be made out to Boise Nationals Soccer Club.  Please ensure that your size is available by filling in the sizing information in the online registration.

Registration for the Spring Youth Academy is available online for ages U5-U11and the cost is $85.
