WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN BNSC SELECT

The BNSC Select Program is open to U9 players who are seeking a more challenging soccer environment than is provided in recreational leagues.  It is not for all players, and families are encouraged to consider what the best fit for each individual child is.  For those who see competitive soccer as an eventual destination, this program is the ideal pre-competitive environment.  Select Age group years -  U9 (birthdates 8/01/06 to 7/31/06) teams are gender specific

    ENVIRONMENT

The BNSC Select Program provides a training and playing environment that is similar to BNSC competitive teams, but with shorter seasons.  The demands on time are slightly more than that of Recreational and less than CompetitiveTeams train two times a week and play a game schedule that will challenge them to improve under the guidance of qualified coaches.

    COACHING

The BNSC Select Program provides coaches with a soccer background.  Coaches are paid and selected on merit of coaching experience, soccer background and suitability to young players  Coaches either have or are pursuing licensing through USSF and the NSCAA, while most have a college soccer or better playing background.  The coach to player ratio is a major focus, with a desired 11:1 ratio.

    TEAM STRUCTURE

Rosters are typically divided up into teams of 10 – 12 players.  Consideration is also given to geography, with an attempt to place players on teams that train within their area of the Valley.  Each team has a designated Head Coach and Assistant Coach. Often, two teams will train together under the guidance of the same Head Coach at the same location.
