BNSC took three teams on the boys side to the Canyon Rim Classic on Twin Falls this weekend.  BNSC Inter U11, BNSC Juventus U10 coached by Brad Thornd and George Kovacs, and BNSC Academy also in the U10 age group although this team was playing up at least 2 years.  This team was coached by Jeff Poole.  BNSC Inter took 1st place in the tournament winning all 4 of their games.  They beat Sawtooth United 4-0 and PVSC 3-2 in the group stages winning their group.  In the semi final game they faced Jackson Hole and beat them 2-0 earning them a place in the final against PVSC who had taken the wild card position and beat FC Boise in their semi final.  The final was a hard fought game and went into the 2nd overtime tied 1-1 when Inter took the lead and held the 2-1 score line until the final whistle earning them an undefeated tournament record and U11 Canyon Rim Classic U11 Champions. 

 

BNSC Juventus played a tough Utah team to start earning a tie 1 to 1.  They won their next game 8-0 against a Magic team earning them 2nd place in the group meaning that they would have to face Sawtooth United in the semi final.  The beat Sawtooth United 4-0 advancing to the final against an undefeated GR Wyoming team.  The final was a hard fought game with GR Wyoming packing back in defense and Juventus trying to find a goal.  The goals were hard to come by with some great saves by the goalie wars champion who was playing for Wyoming. The goal came in the 2nd overtime ending the 0-0 dead lock making Juventus the U10 Canyon Rim Classic Champions. 

 

The BNSC Academy team earned one win and 4th place getting into the semi finals. They got to play some good competition.  A great experience for a young team which improved every game.
